Hendersonville could use more… “I’m not sure what it could use more of,” she says. “Main Street is just darling and charming. Perhaps more upscale women’s clothing stores, with shops that sell brands like Theory and Vince.”
We caught Susie on her way out of… ZB Sports. She was shopping, mainly for furniture, and getting to know Hendersonville. She was amazed at how friendly people were, especially at the Village Green Antique Mall, where she bought a wooden horse and they carried it out for her.
Guilty pleasure: “I could shop anywhere,” she says.
What’s the first thing the new president should fix when he takes office in 2009? “The economy needs some attention. Promoting businesses is important. I’m a big believer in free market enterprise.”
Best book she’s read recently: Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
In her free time: “I have a new granddaughter in New York City, and I spend my free time traveling to visit my four daughters. Now that I’m retired I play a little bit of golf and watch a few football games. I’m a total rookie at golf. What I’d like to be good at is being a grandmother.”
