Local fashionistas are getting an earful with the latest celebrity trend—giant hoop earrings—popularized by the likes of Rihanna, Madonna, Charlize Theron and Jennifer Lopez. They’ve been ‘round since the ‘60s, inspired by the bohemian gypsy lifestyle. They made a brief appearance in the ‘70s and turned many a head during the ostentatious ‘80s. Now, they’re back in a big way and adding some attitude to casual, dress and even business attire. A word of warning: the larger the earring, the more tension, so be prepared for possible ‘lobal warming.
